Jim Koempel has been appointed by the Washington State Department of Agriculture to serve as pear representative on the WTFRC board of Commissioners. Jim has been in that position since 2005.
Jim was born and spent his early days in Tieton, Washington. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Vocational Agriculture from WSU.
For 16 years, Jim worked as a vocational agriculture instructor then turned his knowledge to farming in 1969.
Jim is married to Susan and has two children, Josh and Kiffin. They have two grandchildren: Qynn and Keanan. In his spare time, Jim enjoys stamp collecting and metal fabrication.
