Washington Fruit Commission
Kyle Mathison has been a Commissioner with the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission since 1989. He serves as a member of the Internal Committee which oversees personnel issues.

Kyle was born Wenatchee, Washington in 1952 where he grew up on the family farm, the 1890 homestead on Stemilt Hill. His first job was picking cherries. In 1969 TK (his Dad) put Kyle in charge of the family cherry orchards.

He attended Washington State University, where he majored in Horticulture.

Kyle married his college sweetheart, Jan and has two boys and a girl. West was born in 1976, Tate, in 1978 and Susan was born in 1980. Currently, West administrates the family packing shed, Tate works in sales and marketing of the family and neighbor’s fruit, and Susan and her husband, Robin Graham has come home after graduating from WSU in Horticulture and Vinelogy to work on the family farm and to follow their passion of making ‘World Famous Wine”.

Jan and Kyle are grandparents of three little boys; two born in October of 2006 and one in September 2008.

In his spare time, Kyle enjoys spending time in his homes in Chile and Wenatchee cooking, entertaining friends, growers, guest and customers from all over the world. He also enjoys snow skiing, mountain biking, weight lifting, yoga and motorcycle riding.
